Helping Employers Understand Supports

As professionals supporting individual with disabilities in the workplace, it's crucial to help employers understand the variety and value of supports. Supports can take many forms, from basic reasonable accommodations, to mentoring, training, adaptations, and other supports designed to help individuals succeed in the workplace.

The resources on this page will help you build understanding about supports in general, as well as specific types of supports. They also give you the tools you need to show employers that building an inclusive culture that both welcomes and provides necessary supports, ensures that all employees, regardless of their disabilities, succeed, thus making businesses more successful and profitable.

The Inclusive Workplace is an initiative of Ready, Willing and Able, a partnership of the Autism Alliance of Canada and Inclusion Canada. This work is made possible by the generous support of the Government of Canada’s Opportunities Fund.
